こんにちは。Dabar dan.
Let me begin by extending my appreciation to the Ethnographic Museum (Etnografski muzej), the co-organiser and host of the "Japanese Culture Day”.
I also extend my sincere appreciation to the lecturers who give us a good opportunity to learn diverse charms of Japanese culture. My special thanks also go to OBO Akari san, Owner of TOKI, Japanese Kimono up-cycle brand. She is based in Croatia, which gives you a more convenient access to her products that creates a new way of enjoying the traditional kimonos and the fabrics.
As for today's programmes, I do not need to add anything. You will touch, feel, and understand charms of Japanese culture adequately through excellent lectures and workshops to be presented here.
Having said that, however, let me just share with you one of my thoughts on the beauty in Japanese culture.
On 3 March, people, throughout Japan, celebrate Hinamatsuri, Dolls Festival to wish girls good health and happiness. I introduce you a part of a Japanese song of the Hinamatsuri festival, called "Tanoshii Hinamatsuri" (Happy Dolls Festival).
お内裏様とお雛様 二人並んですまし顔 お嫁にいらした姉様に よく似た官女の白い顔
The second half of this part means,
"My older sister who got married and left home looks much like a fair-skinned court lady (in the set of the dolls)."
I believe that the doll reminded the song writer SATO Hachiro of his late sister, who was kind to and took good care of him in his childhood.
This tells us one of the outstanding characteristics of Japanese culture. When we come across an event, happy or sad, we can feel that there are so many different memories, thoughts, and interpretations flooding back to each person's mind. And I think it makes the culture even more attractive.
Please enjoy different aspects of the beauty of Japanese culture!
ありがとうございました。Hvala vam puno.
